I'm an award winning writer/director from the UK. My first short film 'Michael' won an award at the 'Unchosen' charity film competition and screened at the Raindance Film Festival in 2015. I have completed another two shorts which are just beginning their festival life, as well as writing more shorts and a feature film. I am a lecturer in media production at the University of Central Lancashire. I am also a musician and play in the band Fonda 500. I consider myself a craftsman, transitioning into an artist [I do know how pretentious that sounds].
I have experience in writing and directing drama and am focusing on moving further in that direction.
I am also an experienced camera operator. I am proficient at using a variety of cameras including Panasonic GH4, Canon 5D Mk 2/3, Black Magic Cinema/Pocket Camera, Sony PDW-700, Canon C100/300, Panasonic AF-101 and many other video cameras. I have also filmed using 16mm cameras such as Bolex H16, CP16 and Eclair NPR.
I am also experienced at editing with AVID Media Composer, Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro X. I am an enthusiastic proponent of Adobe Creative Cloud; very experienced with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition, After Effects and Speedgrade, with a limited knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Muse [which I used to make this site].
In my own work I am very interested in exploring the world through film. I'm trying to figure out how I can honestly reflect the world in a positive way. At least in a way that can inspire positive change. I'm concerned and knowledgeable about all aspects of filmmaking, but I'm most focused on storytelling. I consider my sensitivity and my taste to be among my strongest assets.
